Repair first
Older slabs often need crack filling, spall repair and leveling before any coating. We grind every floor so the coating bonds to sound concrete.

Get a Free QuoteWethersfield is one of the oldest towns in Connecticut, and Old Wethersfield, near the Cove, is known for its large collection of historic homes. Away from the historic center, most neighborhoods are filled with Capes, colonials and ranches from the 1940s through the 1960s, with newer homes mixed in.
For garage floors, that means a wide spread of conditions. Some detached garages have old, thin slabs with patches and uneven spots. Postwar attached garages tend to have solid concrete that is stained and salt-worn near the door. Very few have ever been sealed.
Residents commuting on I-91 or the Silas Deane Highway bring in a steady supply of road salt each winter, and that is usually the biggest reason a floor looks rough.

Learn moreFaster cure and generally more cold-tolerant, a good pick for unheated detached garages or shoulder-season jobs.
Learn moreAs an estimate, flake epoxy typically runs $5 to $9 per square foot and polyaspartic flake $6 to $10. A typical two-car garage of 400 to 480 square feet generally lands around $2,500 to $4,800, with older slabs needing heavy repair adding roughly $1 to $3 per square foot. Our cost guide explains what moves the price.

Yes. We coat garage floors throughout Wethersfield, including the historic district. Our work is inside the garage on the concrete slab, so it does not change the look of the house from the street. Older detached garages and carriage-house style outbuildings often need extra slab repair, which we will point out when we quote.
Both work well. Flake epoxy is durable and often a little less expensive, but it generally needs warmer slab temperatures, around 50°F or more, to cure properly. Polyaspartic cures faster, typically tolerates cooler temperatures and lets you use the garage sooner. Many homeowners choose based on timing and budget. We explain both at the quote.
Keep the salt from sitting too long. A floor squeegee or occasional hose rinse pushes brine out the door, and a mild cleaner handles the film that builds up. Because the coating is sealed, the salt stays on top instead of soaking into the concrete. Containment mats under each car can help during the worst weeks too.
